What is the name of the dimension where Endermen originate?

The dimension where Endermen originate is The End. It is Minecraft’s strange, dark dimension of floating islands, where Endermen appear far more commonly than in the Overworld or the Nether.

Players reach The End through an activated End portal, whose frames are found in strongholds beneath the Overworld. The dimension’s central island is guarded by the Ender Dragon, and defeating the dragon opens the exit portal and triggers Minecraft’s ending sequence. End cities, shulkers, chorus plants, and elytra are also associated with the outer End islands.

A common mix-up is The Nether, because Endermen can spawn there too, and they may occasionally appear in the Overworld. Those locations are not generally treated as their home dimension. The Void is different again: it is the empty space beneath and beyond the world’s terrain, not a named dimension where Endermen originate. The Nexus is not one of Minecraft’s standard dimensions.

Minecraft’s official account also notes that The End was conceived after the Enderman had already been added, so the shared “End” name was not originally a detailed lore explanation. In ordinary gameplay and reference material, however, The End is the canonical answer.
