What is the name of the current Chairwoman of Inditex?

The current Chairwoman of Inditex is Marta Ortega Pérez, commonly identified simply as Marta Ortega.

Inditex appointed Ortega as its non-executive Chairwoman effective 1 April 2022. She succeeded Pablo Isla, while Óscar García Maceiras became the company’s Chief Executive Officer. The separation of Chairwoman and CEO reflected a new governance structure rather than Ortega taking over day-to-day executive management.

Ortega is the daughter of Amancio Ortega, who founded Zara and later built Inditex into one of the world’s largest fashion groups. Before becoming Chairwoman, she worked in several parts of the business, including Zara’s product and fashion operations. Her role is therefore connected to the company’s creative and brand direction as well as board leadership.

A common mix-up is choosing Amancio Ortega, the founder and controlling shareholder, or Pablo Isla, the former chairman. Neither currently holds the Chairwoman position.
