Baghdad is the primary city setting of Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
The game follows Basim Ibn Ishaq in ninth-century Baghdad, during the Islamic Golden Age. Basim begins as a street thief and joins the Hidden Ones, the historical organization that precedes the later Assassin Brotherhood. The city’s districts, markets, scholarly institutions, and political life provide the setting for his investigation into mysterious Order members.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage was released in 2023 and was designed as a more compact, stealth-focused experience than several large open-world entries. Constantinople is central to Assassin’s Creed Revelations, while Cairo appears in other historical contexts across the franchise. Baghdad’s prominence in Mirage reflects both the game’s Abbasid-era setting and Basim’s personal history.
