What is the name of the Caribbean pirate who leads Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag?
Answer
Edward Kenway
Answer
Edward Kenway
Edward Kenway is the Caribbean pirate protagonist of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
Edward is a Welsh privateer who becomes involved with both pirates and the Assassins during the early eighteenth century. His pursuit of wealth and a powerful identity draws him into the conflict between the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templar Order. He captains the Jackdaw, the ship used for much of the game's naval exploration.
Black Flag is set largely in the West Indies during the Golden Age of Piracy. Its historical cast includes Blackbeard, Benjamin Hornigold, Anne Bonny, and Mary Read. The game blends open-sea travel, ship combat, island exploration, and conventional stealth missions.
Edward Kenway is also important to the wider series because he is the father of Haytham Kenway and the grandfather of Ratonhnhaké:ton, the protagonist of Assassin's Creed III. Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard, is a separate historical pirate who appears as a character in the game.
