What is the name of the bounty hunter who captured Han Solo?
Answer
Boba Fett
Answer
Boba Fett
The bounty hunter who captured Han Solo is Boba Fett. In The Empire Strikes Back, Fett tracks the Millennium Falcon to Cloud City and alerts Darth Vader after discovering the ship’s location.
Vader captures Han and freezes him in carbonite as part of a plan intended partly to lure Luke Skywalker into a confrontation. Boba Fett is concerned with the bounty placed on Solo by Jabba the Hutt, so he insists that Han survive the carbon-freezing process. Vader ultimately gives the carbonite-encased smuggler to Fett, who transports him to Jabba on Tatooine.
A common mix-up is Jango Fett, Boba’s father and genetic template, who appears in the prequel films. Dengar and IG-88 are also bounty hunters hired by Vader, but neither captures Han. Fett’s distinctive Mandalorian-style armor, jetpack and ship Slave I make him one of the saga’s most recognizable bounty hunters.
