Jackson Storm is the blue race car who rivals Lightning McQueen in Pixar’s Cars 3.
Storm belongs to a new generation of highly advanced racers. His sleek design, computer-assisted training, and powerful performance make him faster than many veteran competitors, including McQueen. Storm’s rise creates the film’s central conflict: whether experience can compete with rapidly changing technology.
Jackson Storm defeats McQueen in an early race, prompting McQueen to seek help from Cruz Ramirez and the Rust-eze team. Their training journey leads to a broader question about identity, mentorship, and knowing when to support the next generation.
Storm is voiced by Armie Hammer. He is distinct from Chick Hicks, the green rival from the first Cars film, and Francesco Bernoulli, Lightning’s Italian rival in Cars 2. Jackson Storm’s dark blue appearance and number 20 make him visually different from McQueen’s familiar red number 95.
