What is the name of the blue Formula-style racer who competes against Lightning McQueen in Cars 2?

Francesco Bernoulli is the blue Formula-style racer who competes against Lightning McQueen in Cars 2.

Francesco is an Italian open-wheel racing champion and one of Lightning’s principal rivals in the World Grand Prix. He is designed with a sleek, single-seat racing shape and a large sense of confidence, creating a strong personality contrast with Lightning.

Francesco’s rivalry with Lightning begins as a competition over reputation and speed. The two racers meet during the international events in Tokyo, Porto Corso, and London, while Mater’s separate spy adventure develops around them.

The character is voiced by John Turturro in the English version. Francesco is sometimes confused with Jackson Storm, the high-tech rival introduced in Cars 3, or Chick Hicks, Lightning’s antagonist in the first Cars film. Those racers belong to different stories and have different vehicle designs and roles.
