The Blue Bird conventional school bus model is the Blue Bird Vision.

Blue Bird introduced the Vision for the 2004 model year, replacing its long-running Conventional. It is a Type C bus, meaning the driver sits behind a hood on a cowled chassis. Unlike earlier Blue Bird Conventionals, which used chassis supplied by companies such as International or General Motors, the Vision uses a proprietary chassis developed by Blue Bird.

The model was created partly because Blue Bird's previous chassis-supply arrangements were ending. Its design also emphasized forward visibility, including the Safety View panel beside the entrance door. The Vision has remained in production through multiple updates and is built at Blue Bird's Fort Valley, Georgia, facility.

A common mix-up is confusing the Vision with the Blue Bird All American. Both are full-size school buses, but the All American is a transit-style Type D model, while the Vision is the hooded Type C conventional. The other choices are competing models from IC Bus and Thomas Built Buses.
