What is the name of the blind boar god in 'Princess Mononoke'?

The story behind the answer

The blind boar god in Princess Mononoke is Okkoto.

Okkoto leads a large boar clan that arrives in the forest intending to attack Irontown. He is elderly and blind, but remains a powerful leader whose determination is driven by the decline of the boar gods and the destruction caused by human expansion. His role contrasts with Nago, another boar god who appears earlier in the story.

The boars’ assault is overwhelmed by Irontown’s firearms. Okkoto survives badly wounded and retreats into the forest with San. Jigo’s hunters disguise themselves with boar skins, tricking Okkoto into believing that his fallen warriors have returned. The deception leads him toward Shishigami.

Okkoto’s grief and hatred eventually transform him into a demon, echoing Nago’s earlier corruption. San becomes trapped in the spreading corruption, but Moro and Ashitaka rescue her. Shishigami ultimately grants Okkoto a peaceful death. The name Okkotonushi or Okkoto-nushi may appear in Japanese references, while Okkoto is the standard English-film name.
