Located at 10 East Oglethorpe Avenue, the house is also known as the Wayne-Gordon House. Juliette Magill Kinzie Gordon was born there on October 31, 1860, and spent her childhood in the Savannah home. The building was constructed in the early nineteenth century and features a Federal-style design adapted to Savannah's distinctive urban house tradition.

Low, nicknamed Daisy, later became inspired by Robert Baden-Powell and the Girl Guide movement in Britain. After returning to the United States, she organized an early Girl Guide troop in Savannah in 1912; the organization soon developed into the Girl Scouts of the USA. Her birthplace is therefore both a family residence and a landmark in the movement's history.
