The banana-skinned character in Fortnite is named Peely. He is an anthropomorphic banana presented as a humanoid Fortnite outfit, with arms, legs, a face, and the bright yellow appearance associated with the character.
Peely first appeared in Fortnite Battle Royale during Chapter 1, Season 8, the “X Marks the Spot” season, which began in February 2019. Players could unlock the outfit by progressing through that season’s Battle Pass. The character’s deliberately silly design made him one of Fortnite’s most recognizable cosmetic figures.
Peely is more than a single appearance: Epic has released multiple versions, including a partially skeletal Peely Bone outfit and Unpeely, a peeled variation. Fortnite’s story has also repeatedly used Peely in trailers, events, and narrative scenes, sometimes treating the banana as a fully sentient character. Cuddle Team Leader is another well-known Fortnite outfit, but it is a pink bear rather than the banana character.
