What is the name of the Assassin's Creed protagonist who is a member of the Medjay?

The story behind the answer

Bayek of Siwa is the Assassin's Creed protagonist who is a Medjay.

Bayek is the main character of Assassin's Creed Origins, which was released in 2017 and is set in Ptolemaic Egypt. As a Medjay, he acts as a protector and lawkeeper, serving communities while investigating the forces responsible for a personal tragedy involving his family.

His journey with Aya leads to the formation of the Hidden Ones, the organization that later develops into the Assassin Brotherhood. The game therefore functions as an origin story for the series' fictional Assassin tradition, even though the word “Assassin” is not the order's original name in that period.

Bayek is sometimes confused with Basim, the protagonist of Assassin's Creed Mirage, or with Aya, who is his wife and an important playable character. Bayek's title is specifically Medjay of Siwa.
