What is the name of the Assassin’s Creed game set in ancient Egypt and starring Bayek?

The story behind the answer

Assassin’s Creed Origins is the game set in ancient Egypt and starring Bayek.

Released in 2017, Origins follows Bayek of Siwa, a Medjay who becomes one of the founders of the Hidden Ones, the organization that later develops into the Assassin Brotherhood. The story takes place during the Ptolemaic period, when Egypt is ruled by Cleopatra and the young Ptolemy XIII.

Origins explores the formation of the conflict between the Hidden Ones and the Order of the Ancients, the organization that precedes the Templars. Bayek’s personal quest begins after the death of his son and gradually becomes connected to political struggles across Egypt.

The game also changed the series’ structure. It introduced more extensive role-playing systems, equipment levels, ability trees, and a large open world spanning deserts, cities, rivers, and tombs. Odyssey follows in ancient Greece, while Valhalla moves to Viking England.
