Krang is the alien brain that commands a mechanical body in the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series.
Krang is an Utrom-like alien who appears as a pink, brain-shaped character. He operates a large robotic exosuit and works with Shredder in repeated attempts to conquer Earth and defeat the turtles. Their partnership is one of the defining villain relationships of the original animated series.
The television version made Krang a prominent recurring antagonist, even though the character’s concept draws on the Utrom aliens from the original Mirage comic. In the 1987 cartoon, Krang is associated with Dimension X and uses the Technodrome as a mobile base.
Shredder is a separate character: he is the human ninja leader of the Foot Clan. Baxter Stockman is a scientist, while Lord Dregg belongs primarily to the later animated-series era.
