Answer
News of the World
The album featuring Queen’s “We Will Rock You” is News of the World.
Released in 1977, News of the World was Queen’s sixth studio album and followed A Day at the Races. It opens with “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions,” two songs that were deliberately paired and soon became a defining sports-stadium anthem combination. Guitarist Brian May wrote “We Will Rock You.”
The recording is famous for its unusually simple rhythm: stomp, stomp, clap, followed by a pause. Queen created the crowd-like effect by overdubbing the band members’ own foot stomps and handclaps in the studio. The original album version is largely vocal and body percussion until May’s guitar solo near the end.
A common mix-up is choosing A Night at the Opera, another landmark Queen album that contains “Bohemian Rhapsody.” “We Will Rock You” belongs to the later News of the World, whose cover art was designed by science-fiction illustrator Frank Kelly Freas. The song and “We Are the Champions” were also issued together as a worldwide single.
