What is the name of the album that features the song "We Are the Champions"?

The story behind the answer

The album featuring “We Are the Champions” is News of the World.

Queen released News of the World, their sixth studio album, on 28 October 1977. “We Are the Champions,” written by lead singer Freddie Mercury, appeared on the album and was also issued as its first single. It was paired with “We Will Rock You,” Brian May's equally famous anthem, on the single release.

The album marked a shift toward a more direct, arena-ready hard-rock sound. Queen recorded it at Sarm East and Wessex Sound studios in London with assistant producer Mike Stone. The cover, designed by science-fiction artist Frank Kelly Freas, shows a giant robot rescuing members of the band and was inspired by a 1950s science-fiction magazine illustration.

A frequent mix-up is A Night at the Opera, another celebrated Queen album that contains “Bohemian Rhapsody,” not “We Are the Champions.” News of the World also includes “We Will Rock You,” and the two songs became a familiar concert and sporting-event pairing. The album reached number four in the UK and number three in the United States.
