What is the name of the album that features the song "Brighton Rock"?

The story behind the answer

The song “Brighton Rock” appears on Queen’s 1974 album Sheer Heart Attack.

“Brighton Rock” was written by guitarist Brian May and included on Queen’s third studio album, Sheer Heart Attack. Although May developed the song during the sessions for Queen II, the band decided it did not fit that album and recorded it later. The lyrics follow two young lovers, Jenny and Jimmy, who meet in Brighton during a holiday.

The track is best known for its extended guitar passage. May used an Echoplex-based delay system to create layers of guitar that answer and harmonize with one another, turning the solo into a dramatic instrumental centerpiece. The studio version contains a lengthy solo, while live performances often expanded it further or presented it as part of a medley.

The title can cause confusion because Queen II came earlier and the song originated during those sessions. It was ultimately placed on Sheer Heart Attack, released in November 1974. The same album also contains “Killer Queen,” “Now I’m Here” and “Stone Cold Crazy.”
