What is the name of the album that features the song "Black Dog"?

The story behind the answer

The album that features the song "Black Dog" is Led Zeppelin IV. The track opens side one of the band’s fourth studio album, released on 8 November 1971.

Led Zeppelin recorded much of the album at Headley Grange, a country house in Hampshire, using the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio. The song’s title reportedly came from a black dog that wandered around the property during the sessions. Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones developed the music, while Robert Plant wrote the lyrics.

"Black Dog" became one of Led Zeppelin’s signature recordings and a regular part of the group’s concerts. It was first performed live in March 1971, months before the album’s release. The track is sometimes confused with "Misty Mountain Hop" or "Rock and Roll," which also appear on Led Zeppelin IV.

The album itself is officially untitled: "Led Zeppelin IV" is the widely accepted name used to identify it. Other names include Four Symbols, The Fourth Album, and ZoSo.
