Answer
"The Basement Tapes"
Answer
"The Basement Tapes"
The album Bob Dylan recorded with his backup group, later known as The Band, is The Basement Tapes.
The recordings were made mainly in 1967, after Dylan’s 1966 motorcycle accident, at his home near Woodstock, New York, and in the basement of a house called Big Pink. The musicians were developing the loose, roots-oriented sound that would soon define The Band. Many sessions were informal, featuring original songs, traditional folk and country material, and playful covers.
The album title can cause confusion because the recordings were not released during the mid-1960s sessions. Columbia issued a selected double album in 1975, combining Dylan performances with recordings involving members of The Band. A much larger six-disc collection, The Basement Tapes Complete, appeared in 2014. The Band itself then released Music from Big Pink in 1968, a separate album that grew from the same musical partnership.
