What is the name of the actor who plays James Doakes?

Erik King plays James Doakes in Dexter. Doakes is a detective sergeant at Miami Metro who becomes one of Dexter Morgan’s most dangerous adversaries because he instinctively distrusts Dexter’s carefully constructed personality.

Doakes serves as a major antagonist during the first two seasons. His investigation eventually leads him to suspect that Dexter is the serial killer known as the Bay Harbor Butcher. King appeared in the show from its 2006 pilot through the end of season two and later returned for a season-seven episode.

The role is sometimes confused with other Miami Metro characters. Desmond Harrington played Detective Joey Quinn, C. S. Lee played forensic investigator Vince Masuka, and David Zayas played Sergeant Angel Batista. King also had notable roles as Moses Deyell in Oz and in films including National Treasure.
