What is the name of Sulley’s assistant and best friend in Monsters, Inc.?

Mike Wazowski is Sulley’s assistant and best friend in Monsters, Inc. The small, green, one-eyed monster handles much of the practical work surrounding Sulley’s career as a top scarer at Monsters, Incorporated.

Mike is ambitious, image-conscious, and frequently impatient, but he remains loyal when Sulley becomes responsible for Boo. Their friendship drives the story: Mike initially wants to avoid trouble, while Sulley gradually accepts the risk of challenging the company’s rules to protect the child.

Mike is voiced by Billy Crystal, and Sulley is voiced by John Goodman. The pair later appear as students in Monsters University, which explores their earlier relationship. Mike’s full name is sometimes shortened in casual references, but the canonical character name used in the film is Mike Wazowski.
