What is the name of Pixar's Cars short-film series centered on Mater's stories?

Mater's Tall Tales is the Cars short-film series centered on Mater's stories.

The series is officially titled Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales. Each short features Tow Mater telling Lightning McQueen about an extraordinary adventure from his supposed past. The stories can involve espionage, stunt driving, monster trucks, or other wildly exaggerated events.

The first three shorts premiered on television in 2008, and the series continued with additional installments. Larry the Cable Guy provides Mater's voice, while Owen Wilson voices McQueen in the framing conversations for many of the shorts.

The title's joke is that “tall tale” means an entertaining story containing exaggeration. The shorts therefore do not always function as straightforward continuity for the feature films. The Cars franchise also produced another short-film collection, Tales from Radiator Springs, so the two series should not be treated as identical.
