Miranda’s current second assistant in The Devil Wears Prada 2 is Charlie.
The sequel introduces a new generation of assistants around Miranda Priestly. Charlie holds the second-assistant position, a role that echoes Andy Sachs’s job in the original film. The position places Charlie close to Miranda’s demanding schedule and the daily pressure of working at Runway.
This detail is easy to confuse because the sequel also includes Amari Mari, who is Miranda’s current first assistant. The order matters: Charlie is the second assistant, while Amari Mari occupies the first-assistant role. Andy, meanwhile, has moved far beyond her old assistant position and returns as Runway’s features editor.
The assistant structure also reinforces one of the sequel’s themes: Runway has changed, but its intense hierarchy remains recognizable. Miranda still relies on junior staff to manage communication, logistics, and rapid-fire demands, even as the magazine struggles with digital media and changing business conditions.
