What is the name of Mirabel's grandfather?

Mirabel's grandfather is Pedro Madrigal.

Pedro is the husband of Alma Madrigal and the father of their triplets, Julieta, Pepa, and Bruno. His sacrifice forms the emotional and magical foundation of Encanto: while fleeing armed attackers in Colombia, Pedro dies protecting Alma and their young children.

After Pedro's death, Alma's candle becomes magical, creates Casita, and establishes the protected valley known as the Encanto. The miracle then grants magical gifts to later generations of the Madrigal family. Pedro therefore remains central to the story even though he appears mainly through memories and family history.

A common mix-up is calling him “Abuelo” as though that were his name. “Abuelo” is the Spanish word for grandfather, while his name is Pedro Madrigal. Félix and Bruno are not Mirabel's grandfathers: Félix is her aunt Pepa's husband, and Bruno is her maternal uncle. Pedro is also the father of Mirabel's mother, Julieta, making him Mirabel's maternal grandfather.
