What is the name of Kanga's son?

Kanga’s son in Winnie the Pooh is Roo.

Roo is a young kangaroo, or joey, who appears alongside his mother, Kanga. Their combined names even create the playful phrase “Kanga-Roo,” and they are the only mother-and-child pair of the same animal species among the principal characters in A. A. Milne’s original books.

Roo first appears in the chapter “In Which Kanga and Baby Roo Come to the Forest and Piglet Has a Bath” in Winnie-the-Pooh, published in 1926. Kanga and Roo arrive in the Hundred Acre Wood as newcomers, and the other characters initially fear Kanga because she is one of the “Fiercer Animals.” The group soon discovers that she is kind and protective.

Like many Pooh characters, Roo was inspired by one of Christopher Robin Milne’s stuffed animals. In Disney adaptations, he is portrayed as energetic, curious, and eager to become more independent. He is also a close friend of Tigger and later befriends Lumpy, a young Heffalump. “Joey” describes a young kangaroo, but it is not Roo’s name.
