What is the name of Joey Tribbiani’s fictional soap opera character in Friends?

Joey Tribbiani’s fictional soap opera character in Friends is Dr. Drake Ramoray.

Joey plays Dr. Drake Ramoray on the fictional daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives. The role is a major part of Joey’s acting career and gives the series a continuing source of jokes about soap-opera plots, sudden recasting, and dramatic medical storylines.

The character is temporarily written out of Days of Our Lives after Joey gives an interview that upsets the show’s writers. He later returns in an implausible storyline involving a brain transplant, a deliberately exaggerated example of soap-opera melodrama. Joey’s professional ambition remains important even when his career is unstable.

Dr. Richard Burke is a character played by Tom Selleck, while Mike Hannigan is played by Paul Rudd and becomes Phoebe’s husband. Dr. Leonard Green is Rachel’s father. None of those characters is Joey’s fictional television role.
