What is the name of Halo 4's episodic cooperative mode?

Halo 4's episodic cooperative mode is called Spartan Ops. It is a series of short campaign episodes set aboard the UNSC Infinity and designed for cooperative play.

Spartan Ops launched alongside Halo 4 and added narrative missions beyond the game's main campaign. Players controlled Spartan-IV soldiers known as the Spartan Ops team, while weekly releases helped present the mode in a television-like format.

The mode is often confused with War Games, Halo 4's broader multiplayer component. Firefight is also a separate cooperative survival mode associated with other Halo titles, especially Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach.

Spartan Ops helped introduce characters and events connected to the Infinity and its crew. Although its original release was episodic, the complete season could later be played as a collected set of missions.
