What is the name of Google's web browser? Google's web browser is Google Chrome.

Google Chrome was introduced in 2008 as a free web browser designed to make browsing faster, simpler, and more stable. Google announced it on September 1, 2008, through a comic explaining the browser’s design, and released the first public version for Microsoft Windows the following day.

Chrome was built around Chromium, Google’s open-source browser project. Its early architecture used separate processes for tabs and components, helping prevent one crashed webpage from taking down the entire browser. Chrome’s JavaScript engine, V8, also became an important part of its performance strategy.

People sometimes confuse Chrome with ChromeOS, which is Google’s operating system for certain computers. Chrome is the browser; ChromeOS is the platform. Chrome is also available on Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and Linux, so it is not limited to Google-made devices.
