What is the name of George Lucas's educational foundation?

The name of George Lucas's educational foundation is The George Lucas Educational Foundation.

Lucas founded the nonprofit to encourage innovation in K–12 education. Rather than operating mainly as a traditional grant-making charity, the organization became known for documenting effective teaching methods and sharing them with educators.

Its best-known project is Edutopia, an education website and media brand featuring classroom videos, teacher strategies, and reports on approaches such as project-based learning, technology integration, and social-emotional learning. The website began in 2002, while the foundation's print magazine launched in 2004.

A common mix-up is treating Edutopia as the foundation's formal name. Edutopia is the foundation's public-facing brand and publication, not the nonprofit's legal name. The foundation has also been associated with Lucas's education philanthropy, including a major donation to the University of Southern California in 2006.
