Bilbo Baggins’s home in J.R.R. Tolkien’s stories is called Bag End. It is a comfortable hobbit-hole in Hobbiton, in the Shire.
Bag End is the starting point for both The Hobbit and much of The Lord of the Rings. Bilbo lives there before leaving on his adventure with Thorin’s company, and Frodo later inherits the home. Its round door and underground rooms represent the quiet domestic life that contrasts with the wider dangers of Middle-earth.
Bag End is sometimes confused with Bagshot Row, a nearby street in Hobbiton. Bagshot Row is where Samwise Gamgee’s family lives, while Bag End is the particular residence associated with Bilbo and Frodo.
