What is the name of Beyoncé’s younger sister, a singer and dancer?

Beyoncé’s younger sister is Solange Knowles, a singer, songwriter, DJ, and dancer.

Solange was born in Houston in 1986 and also developed a career in music. Although she grew up in the same highly musical family as Beyoncé, her artistic work has generally followed a distinct path, with strong emphasis on alternative R&B, soul, visual presentation, and album concepts.

A common mix-up is confusing Solange with Beyoncé’s former Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. Solange was never a member of Destiny’s Child. She did, however, perform and record independently, and the sisters have occasionally appeared together in public and creative projects.

Their mother, Tina Knowles, is a fashion designer and entrepreneur, while their father, Mathew Knowles, managed Destiny’s Child during its early rise. The Knowles family therefore played a major role in both sisters’ careers.
