Beyoncé’s 2022 studio album built around dance and house music is Renaissance.
Renaissance was released on July 29, 2022, as Beyoncé’s seventh solo studio album. It was presented as the first act of a planned trilogy, although the album itself works as a complete dance-oriented project.
The record draws from house, disco, funk, dance-pop, and broader club traditions. Its production and sampling connect it to earlier Black and queer dance-music cultures. The album’s lead single, “Break My Soul,” helped introduce its upbeat, club-focused direction before the full release.
Renaissance debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and earned nine Grammy nominations. At the 65th Grammy Awards, it won four awards, including Best Dance/Electronic Music Album. Those victories made Beyoncé the artist with the most Grammy wins in Grammy history at that time, with 32 awards.
