What is the name of Beyoncé’s 2019 album of songs from The Lion King?

Beyoncé’s 2019 album of songs connected with The Lion King is The Lion King: The Gift.

Released by Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records on July 19, 2019, the album was curated by Beyoncé alongside the photorealistic remake of Disney’s The Lion King. It includes artists from Africa and the African diaspora, reflecting the film’s setting and themes while blending Afrobeats, R&B, pop, hip-hop, and other styles.

Beyoncé voiced Nala in the 2019 film and performed “Spirit,” which appears on the soundtrack and on the album. The Gift is a studio album rather than a conventional film score, and it contains collaborations with artists including Jay-Z, Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Wizkid, and Blue Ivy Carter.

Black Is King is related but distinct: it is a 2020 visual album film built around music from The Lion King: The Gift.
