The name of Apple's mixed-reality headset is Apple Vision Pro. Apple unveiled it on June 5, 2023, at its Worldwide Developers Conference and released it in the United States on February 2, 2024. Apple described the product primarily as a “spatial computer,” reflecting its attempt to blend digital content with the user's physical surroundings.

The headset uses outward-facing cameras, eye tracking, hand gestures, and voice input instead of relying mainly on handheld motion controllers. Its cameras provide a live view of the environment, allowing apps and media to appear as floating windows or immersive scenes. A digital crown changes the balance between the real world and a virtual environment.

Vision Pro runs visionOS, an operating system built around a three-dimensional interface. Features include Personas, Apple's term for scanned digital avatars used in video calls, and EyeSight, an outward-facing display intended to show the wearer's eyes and signal awareness to nearby people.

It is often confused with unreleased “Apple Glasses,” but those are not the product's official name. Microsoft HoloLens and Meta Quest are competing mixed-reality product families. Apple Vision Pro is also Apple's first major new product category since Apple Watch, introduced in 2015.
