What is the most expensive Reddit award as of 2021?

The most expensive Reddit award as of 2021 was Ternion, formally known as the Ternion All-Powerful award. It occupied the top end of Reddit’s award system and was designed as an exceptionally lavish way to recognize a post or comment.

Ternion cost 50,000 Reddit Coins, far more than familiar awards such as Gold, Platinum, or Argentium. In return, the recipient received 5,000 Coins and six months of Reddit Premium, which included benefits such as ad-free browsing and access to restricted community features.

The award’s name refers to a group of three, fitting Reddit’s use of grand, ceremonial names for its highest-tier awards. Gold was much cheaper, while Platinum and Argentium sat below Ternion in the price hierarchy. Reddit later changed and eventually retired its legacy Coins-and-awards system, so the phrase “as of 2021” matters: it identifies the award structure that existed at that time, not necessarily Reddit’s current system.
