The Korean traditional game of throwing arrows into a narrow jar, sometimes played during Chuseok, is Tuho.
In Tuho, players stand at a set distance from a target container and try to toss slender arrows into its opening. The player or team that lands the most arrows scores best. The game tests aim and control rather than strength, making it suitable for group play.
Tuho was historically enjoyed by people from different social settings, including the royal court and aristocratic households. It is one of several traditional Korean games that may appear at festivals and cultural events. Its equipment is simple, but the small target makes accurate throws surprisingly difficult.
Tuho is sometimes mixed up with Yutnori, a board game played with four wooden sticks, or Jegichagi, a kicking game using a small shuttlecock-like object. Those games are also associated with Korean traditional culture, but only Tuho uses arrows and a jar as its defining equipment.
