What is the internal codename for Android 12?

The internal codename for Android 12 was Snow Cone. Android 12 was announced in February 2021 and released publicly later that year, bringing a major visual refresh known as Material You, expanded privacy controls, and more personalized system colors.

Snow Cone continued Android's long tradition of dessert-themed internal names. Google had used dessert names publicly through Android 9 Pie, but beginning with Android 10 it stopped displaying those names as the official consumer branding.
