Answer
Pokémon: The First Movie – Mewtwo Strikes Back
The first Pokémon theatrical film released internationally is titled Pokémon: The First Movie – Mewtwo Strikes Back.
The film focuses on Mewtwo, a genetically engineered Pokémon created from research involving Mew. Feeling exploited and questioning its identity, Mewtwo challenges human Trainers and their Pokémon.
It premiered in Japan in July 1998 under the title Mewtwo Strikes Back. The English-language international release used the longer title Pokémon: The First Movie, with Mewtwo Strikes Back as its subtitle.
