The heroine of 'Mansfield Park' is named Fanny Price. Her full name is Frances Price, but Jane Austen's novel almost always presents her by the familiar diminutive Fanny.
Fanny begins the story at age ten, when her impoverished family sends her to live with her wealthy aunt and uncle, Sir Thomas and Lady Bertram, at Mansfield Park.
