The first name of Morty’s classmate and longtime crush is Jessica. She is introduced as a student at Harry Herpson High School and becomes one of the show’s recurring supporting characters.
Morty’s feelings for Jessica drive several early stories. In the pilot, Rick uses Morty’s crush as part of a bizarre scenario involving humanity’s destruction. In “Rick Potion #9,” Morty asks Rick for a love serum for Jessica, but her flu causes the potion to spread worldwide, transforming much of humanity into Cronenberg-like monsters.
Jessica is more than a one-sided crush. She occasionally shows interest in Morty, dates him, and later becomes central to “Mort Dinner Rick Andre.” In that episode, she is trapped in a dimension where time passes extraordinarily quickly, spending what feels like millennia in frozen isolation. The experience changes her outlook, and she tells Morty they should remain friends for now. Her later “Time God” status is a notorious source of trivia confusion.
