What is the final campaign mission of Halo 2 called?

The final campaign mission of Halo 2 is called “The Great Journey.”

The mission is set primarily on the Covenant capital ship High Charity and follows the Arbiter as he pursues the Prophet of Truth. At the same time, Sergeant Major Avery Johnson works with the Arbiter to stop the Covenant from activating Installation 00, the Ark. The title refers to the Covenant religious belief that activating the Halo rings will begin a transcendence known as the Great Journey.

“The Great Journey” is also the name of the final level in Halo 2’s campaign, not merely a description of the story’s ending. Players control the Arbiter for most of the mission and fight through Covenant forces, including Brutes loyal to Truth. The mission concludes with the firing of Installation 05 being interrupted and the discovery that the remaining Halo rings can be activated remotely from the Ark.

It is sometimes confused with “Regret,” “Sacred Icon,” or “High Charity,” which are separate Halo 2 missions.
