Yo-kai Watch 3 was released in Japan on July 16, 2016.

The Japanese launch offered two versions: Sushi and Tempura. Both were Nintendo 3DS role-playing games, and their version differences included certain Yo-kai, quests, and other content. The game expanded the series beyond Japan-inspired settings by sending its characters to the fictional American city of St. Peanutsburg.

A common mix-up is the later third version, Sukiyaki. It was released in Japan on December 15, 2016, several months after Sushi and Tempura. International releases also arrived much later: the European version launched in December 2018, while the North American version followed in February 2019.
