The Audi R8 V10 engine has a displacement of 5.2 liters. More precisely, the naturally aspirated V10 used in the first-generation R8 measured 5,204 cc, which is conventionally rounded to 5.2 liters.
Audi introduced the R8 V10 in December 2008, positioning it above the 4.2-liter V8 version. The engine was closely related to the 5.2-liter V10 used by Lamborghini, another Volkswagen Group brand, but Audi tuned it for the R8’s character and quattro all-wheel-drive system.
A common mix-up is confusing the R8 V10 with the R8 V8, whose engine displaced about 4.2 liters. The 4.0-liter option is associated with other Audi performance engines, not the classic R8 V10.
