The default name of Fire Emblem Awakening's amnesiac Avatar is Robin.
Robin is a customizable player character whose name, gender, appearance, hair colour and voice can be changed at the start of the game. The default name is therefore a canon presentation choice, while the player may replace it with a personal name. Robin begins the story with no memories and is discovered by Chrom and Lissa in a field.
After demonstrating strong tactical ability, Robin becomes Chrom's strategist and joins the Shepherds, Ylisse's personal army. Robin's amnesia is not merely a character quirk: it is connected to the game's central conflict involving Validar, the Fell Dragon Grima and a future timeline devastated by Grima's resurrection.
Robin is commonly confused with other Fire Emblem avatars. Corrin is the customizable protagonist of Fire Emblem Fates, Kris is the avatar in the Nintendo DS remake of Shadow Dragon, and Mark is the tactician avatar associated with Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. In Awakening, Robin is the standard default name regardless of the player's chosen gender.
