What is the color of Kirby's body?

Kirby’s body is pink. His instantly recognizable design is a soft, round shape with stubby arms, large red feet, and expressive eyes. The character was created by Masahiro Sakurai at HAL Laboratory for Kirby’s Dream Land, released for the Game Boy in 1992.

Kirby’s pink color was intended by Sakurai from the beginning, although the development team did not initially know that choice. Shigeru Miyamoto reportedly expected Kirby to be yellow, but pink was ultimately considered more distinctive. Kirby’s simple shape was also deliberately easy for players to recognize and draw.

A common mix-up comes from the original Game Boy’s limited grayscale display: Kirby appeared gray in the game itself, and some North American promotional materials showed him as white. That does not change his canonical color. In official color artwork and later games, Kirby is consistently depicted with a pink body, usually contrasted with red feet and rosy cheek marks.
