What is the capital of Bahrain?
Answer
Manama
Answer
Manama
The capital of Bahrain is Manama.
Manama is Bahrain’s largest city and the country’s principal political, financial, and commercial centre. It stands on Bahrain Island in the Persian Gulf and contains major government offices, banks, museums, and the diplomatic district.
The city’s name is commonly written Manama in English, while Arabic uses المنامة. Muharraq, another important Bahraini city, was the country’s former capital and remains known for its traditional architecture and pearling history. Riffa is also a major urban area, but it is not the national capital.
Manama’s modern skyline developed alongside Bahrain’s oil economy and its role as a regional banking centre. The city is also associated with Bab Al Bahrain, a historic gateway near the old commercial souq.
