What is Princess Leia's home planet in Star Wars?

Princess Leia’s home planet in Star Wars is Alderaan.

Leia was raised as Princess Leia Organa by Bail and Breha Organa, the royal family of Alderaan. The planet is portrayed as a peaceful, blue-green world known for its cultured society and opposition to tyranny. Although Leia is later revealed to be the biological daughter of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala, Alderaan remains her homeworld and central political identity.

Alderaan’s destruction is one of the defining tragedies of the original trilogy. In the 1977 film, Grand Moff Tarkin orders the Death Star to fire on the planet as both a weapons test and a warning to the galaxy. Leia is forced to watch the destruction after falsely giving Tarkin information about a Rebel base.

A common mix-up is confusing Alderaan with Naboo, where Leia’s mother was born, or with Coruscant, where Leia served in the Imperial Senate. Leia was born on Polis Massa but was raised on Alderaan.
