Answer
John McEnroe
Patty Smyth’s husband’s name is John McEnroe.
Smyth is an American singer and songwriter best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band Scandal and for her solo recordings. She and McEnroe met in 1993, and they married in 1997. The couple have two daughters and have lived on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
McEnroe is best known as one of tennis’s greatest players. He reached world No. 1 in singles and doubles, won seven Grand Slam singles titles, and became famous for his exceptional touch at the net, creative shot-making, and intense on-court arguments with officials. He also helped the United States win the Davis Cup.
The pair are sometimes confused with Smyth’s earlier husband, musician Richard Hell. Smyth and Hell were married briefly in 1985–86 and had a daughter. McEnroe’s own first marriage was to actor Tatum O’Neal, from 1986 to 1994. Smyth and McEnroe have also occasionally collaborated publicly around music and tennis-related appearances.
