What is Mater's full first name in Pixar's Cars?

Mater's full name in Pixar's Cars is Tow Mater.

The name is a pun on the phrase “tow mater,” a pronunciation of “tow matter” that evokes the character's work as a tow truck. Mater is a rusty, friendly tow truck who lives in Radiator Springs and quickly becomes Lightning McQueen's closest friend.

He is voiced by Larry the Cable Guy, whose Southern comic delivery became a defining part of the character. Mater's apparent lack of sophistication is paired with loyalty, practical knowledge, and an ability to make friends easily.

Mater appears prominently in Cars 2, where he is mistaken for a secret agent during the World Grand Prix. He also leads the animated short series Mater's Tall Tales. The character's official name is Tow Mater, while “Mater” is the form most often used in dialogue.
