What is Elon Musk’s middle name?

Elon Musk’s middle name is Reeve, making his full name Elon Reeve Musk.

The name appears in biographies, corporate records, and other formal references to the technology entrepreneur. Musk was born in Pretoria, South Africa, in 1971, to Maye Musk and Errol Musk. His first name, Elon, is distinctive, while Reeve is the middle name most often omitted in everyday reporting.

A common mix-up is to treat “Musk” as a shortened or altered name, but it is his family surname. Another source of confusion is the name of his father, Errol Musk, and his mother, Maye Musk; neither is part of Elon Musk’s own middle name.

Musk became internationally known through companies including SpaceX and Tesla. He also co-founded or founded ventures such as Zip2, X.com, Neuralink, and The Boring Company. His formal name remains Elon Reeve Musk across these biographical accounts.
